My Babies are Growing TOO FAST!!!

Last week a family from church gave Grace their daughter's old bike. It is almost new, but the little girl is too big. It came with training wheels. Grace figured it out so quickly. Before I took her on the road, I made her drive around in the driveway to get used to the brakes. I was amazed at how easily she pedaled up the road. She LOVED going around the cul-de-sac. She went faster and faster each time. Since then we dug out the helmet and she MUST wear it whenever she is on her bike!

The other day I was playing on the floor with DJ. All of the sudden he reached for this toy and "stood" up!!! WHAT!!! He's not even 6 months old yet. He is so proud of himself as you can see. He is still working on the getting down part!

I tried the cup with DJ the other night. He wasn't too sure about the water in it, but he sure liked holding the cup BY HIMSELF!!!

Monday at the park, DJ was playing on a blanket. He got up on all fours like he always does. My mom, who came along as baby control, said, "He'll be sitting from that position soon." The words he hardly left he mouth when he sat back up! I got his reaction on camera. It was priceless!

At the Camp with Friends

We invited our new neighbors to the camp today. It was a BLAST. Grace had tons of friends to play with AND I was able to spend time with another mom. My sister came too which made the day even better. The kids played in the sand and played on the swings. We had a nice lunch and then went on a nice boat ride.

Grace went on her first canoe ride and got to help paddle!!! She had fun with Auntie and Skyla.

JP loved running around.

DJ loved the swing.

I thought he might fall asleep, but he was just resting!

JP on the boat, cheeeeese.

Grace and Zoe

Julia and a sleeping Victoria.

Grace jumped in the water in the middle of the lake.

At first she hung onto Auntie for dear life!

Auntie explained how the life vest worked, so Grace got brave and loosened her grip a little.

Then she swam next to Auntie while holding her hand.

Then she let go and tried swimming off by herself. We didn't let her get too far. She had a great time!!! Good job Grace!

Daddy put DJ in the water.

UUUUMMMM, why is it so cold Daddy??

I don't really like this....

We had an awesome day and want to do it again soon. I am so thankful that the Lord put us in this house. As difficult as it was to sort, pack, and move within 2 months of having a baby, the Lord knew this is what we needed. Grace has a new friend, and I have a mom next door that I see almost daily. What a blessing!!

Grace and the cake popsicle????

Last week was my dad's birthday. We went over for dinner and cake.

Grace LOVES cake and found a faster way to eat it!!!

Cheerios and Puffs

Last week, we introduced DJ to Cheerios and Puffs. I thought that he would spit them out and refuse to eat them. How WRONG I was, he LOVES them. He figured out immediately what to do. He moves them to the side of his mouth and gums away then swallows!!! Then lets you know he wants MORE!!! (I show him the sign for more and he look at me like I'm crazy, but I know he'll get it!!)

At first he would make the funniest faces..... enjoy!!!

What is that you put in my mouth???

Oh, I get it. I need to chew......

and chew....

WOW!!! It's good. Can I have more?!?!?

DJ and FOOD!!!!

It seems that our little DJ just skipped right over being a baby. Not only is he trying to crawl, but he loves to be held in a standing position and "walk" around. He also LOVES to eat his baby food. He took to it right away and now that I've introduced fruits and veggies, he can't get enough. The other day he was so excited while eating, he was "talking" and food was flying everywhere. As you can see from the pictures, he wears his food well!!!

Of course, after a meal like that, some serious cleaning was necessary. So as per our nightly routine, DJ got a bath. Grace wanted to take a bath too. She started out in the big tub sitting next to DJ's tub. But she soon migrated into the little tub. DJ didn't mind. In fact, he tried to chew/suck on her legs and toes. Grace had an enjoyable time too and decided to "show off" for the camera!

Baby Food

I always thought that making homemade baby food would be difficult and time consuming. How wrong I was, thankfully!! While pregnant with DJ, I was inspired by my good friend Sarah to make my own baby food. She was doing it for her daughter and gave me lots of pointers and ideas. I have to say that I am soooooo glad I did it. Not only do I know what DJ is eating, but I saved a TON of money. AND it is SO easy. My freezer is stocked and it should last for a while. Thanks Sarah!!!

Bath Time

So the other night Domenic gave DJ a bath. Baths make Dom nervous and this was only the second time he'd given DJ a bath. I heard some fussing and noise and Domenic saying, "You're alright." I didn't think that much of it.

When Domenic brought DJ down a little later, he said, "That was crazy." DJ was so excited to be in the tub he kicked and splashed AND turned over which put his head completely under the water. So, last night we tried to sit him up in his tub. He was tentative at first, but then seemed to enjoy it. He can still kick and splash with his hands.

I wonder if I will be doing all the baths from now on????

They Grow TOO Fast!

Wasn't DJ just born yesterday????

In reality his is now 5 months old, but he thinks he's older. Since the end of last week, he has been getting up on hands and knees and rocking back and forth. When he leans too far forward, he flops on his belly. He's gotten good at not smashing his face into the floor.

He moves all over the floor by rolling and turning in circles!!! I'm not ready for this. He is a bundle of energy that doesn't stop. Even when he's being held, he cannot be still. I guess we are in for it!!

Today when Daddy asked Grace what she could teach him, she said, "running!" Those days will be here before we know it!
